Run.Ride & Refocus [2021] is an opportunity to get out of town, connect with likeminded people, run, ride or hike in nature and refocus for the year ahead.

This format is simple. The Middle will provide you with a journal on arrival which includes a set of Refocus questions. The intro session on Friday will take those coming for the first time through the questions so as to ensure you get the most out of your time with us. The runs, rides or walks as well as the disconnect time in between will be used to reflect on the questions and refocus yourself. Travis Gale will facilitate a few sessions to ensure we learn from each other and work through the process intentionally.

Based on the feedback from the first Run & Refocus, which consisted mainly of trail running, we have now made space for mountain bikers and hikers too. We go by time, so you can do whatever distance and discipline you like and gather with those who are keen to do the same. There will be some who push a long 20km+ in that time and others who explore the trails and waterfalls toward the lower end of the trail. All runs and hikes are from Monks Cowl. Cyclists can enjoy the trails around the camp.

Ticket prices are inclusive of the REFOCUS process, facilitation through the REFOCUS process, parks-board entrance fees at Monks Cowl, accommodation, Friday night and Saturday night dinners (cooked around the fire by our very own chef Garth Moffatt, who receives rave reviews) and a post run brunch following our time in the mountains.

We look forward to returning to Mountain Splendour for this event! Three options are available for accommodation; Camping (bring your own tent), Semi-Glamping (Canvas dome tent provided with a single bed(s) and linen) and Glamping (fully equipped safari tent). Please note that due to the number of glamping tents available, the ticket price is per person sharing. There are 2 PAX per tent.


Run and Refocus [2021] Agenda:

Friday 26th:

15h00: Arrivals and set up’s.

16h15: Refocus Session 1 (45mins)

17h00: Short Run / Ride / Hike on surrounding trails.

18h00: Refocus Session 1 (repeat for any late arrivals)

19h00: Dinner (included) and Drinks.

Saturday 27th:

06h00: Trail Run / Ride / Hike (We spend 4 hours on the trails)

11h00: Brunch (included)

14h30: Refocus Session 2 (1hr)

18h30: Sundowners and Dinner (included).

Sunday 28th:

08h00: Debrief and departures.

A mailer will be sent out closer to the time for all who register with more details.

Some details: 

  1. Specific dietary requirements can be catered for. Please let us know well in advance.
  2. Due to the number of glamping tents available, the glamping ticket is per person sharing. We are happy to allocate you and a friend or partner / spouse to one tent.
  3. For more info on what is included in the glamping setup, see here. Each tent fits two people sharing.
  4. You are required to bring your own drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, food, running / riding nutrition and snacks for meals not catered for.
